Terms of service

The basis on which we take on work. Plain language, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.

Quotes

Quotes are based on the files and information you give us and are valid for 30 days. Instant online estimates are exactly that — estimates, generated from the geometry of your model — and are always confirmed by our team before any charge is made. If reviewing your files changes the price, we tell you before proceeding, not after.

Orders and payment

An order is accepted when we confirm it and payment is received. For larger projects we may agree a deposit and balance schedule in writing. Prices are in US dollars and exclude sales tax, which is calculated at checkout where applicable.

Files you supply

By uploading files you confirm that you own them or have the right to have them reproduced. You are responsible for the content of your designs, including any trademarks, copyrighted material or third-party intellectual property.

We build to the files and specifications you approve. If your files contain an error and we produce the part as supplied, the cost of remaking it is yours. We will always raise a problem we notice before cutting — but a full review of your design for defects is not part of a production order unless we have agreed to it in writing as part of the quote.

Proofs

Where a proof forms part of the process, production begins when you approve it. Approval is your confirmation that spelling, dimensions, artwork placement and material choice are correct.

Tolerances and finish

Additive and subtractive processes have inherent tolerances, and natural materials such as wood vary in grain and color. Unless a tolerance is agreed in writing, parts are produced to normal shop practice for the process used. Layer lines on printed parts, tool marks on machined surfaces and light scorching on laser-cut edges are characteristics of those processes, not defects.

Your intellectual property

You keep all rights in your designs. We claim no ownership of anything you send us, and we will not use your work as portfolio or marketing material without your permission. See our privacy policy for how files are stored and who can access them.

Cancellation

You may cancel for a full refund at any time before production starts. Once production has started, custom work cannot be cancelled or refunded — see shipping & returns.

Limitation of liability

Our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or delays arising from the use of parts we produce. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Parts are supplied for the purpose you describe. We do not certify parts for safety-critical, medical, aerospace or load-bearing applications unless expressly agreed in writing.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
